Disney food has a reputation for being expensive, and parts of it are. But some of the best bits are cheap snacks you'll only find in the parks. This guide covers what's worth trying at Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World in Florida, with rough prices in US dollars. Prices change by date and are often updated, so treat them as a guide.

The classics you'll find at both

Dole Whip. The pineapple soft serve is the park snack everyone mentions. At Walt Disney World a cup is generally $5.79 to $5.99 and a pineapple juice float $6.79 to $7.29, according to Florida Review (July 2026). In Magic Kingdom, try Aloha Isle or Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland. Other spots include Tamu Tamu Refreshments at Animal Kingdom, Swirls on the Water at Disney Springs and Pineapple Lanai at the Polynesian Resort. At Disneyland, you'll find it at Tiki Juice Bar and Tropical Hideaway, plus Tangaroa Terrace and Trader Sam's at Downtown Disney (no prices given in our source).

Ice cream sandwiches and churros. Mickey-shaped ice cream sandwiches are about $5.75 each at Disneyland, according to Hungry Huy. In Florida, a churro at Nomad Lounge in Animal Kingdom is about $11, which is on the pricey side.

  • Plaza Inn fried chicken: lunch and dinner $15 to $35 per adult
  • Cafe Orleans Monte Cristo sandwich: no price in our source
  • Jack-Jack Cookie Num Nums, Pixar Pier: $9
  • Earl of Sandwich, Downtown Disney: about $15 per adult for fast dining, or about $35 at the tavern

Sit-down experiences exist too, such as Carthay Circle (about $60 per adult), Blue Bayou and Napa Rose at the top end. Character breakfast at Plaza Inn is $46 per adult and $27 per child. These prices are from Hungry Huy, last updated in September 2026.

Walt Disney World, Florida

Prices below are from Flamingo in Fantasyland (published May 2026, updated October 2026) and are approximate.

  • Magic Kingdom: Cheeseburger Spring Rolls ($9.50 for two), Warm Cinnamon Roll at Gaston's Tavern ($7.99)
  • EPCOT: School Bread at Norway ($5.49), Caramel Butter Bar at Germany ($5.79), Poutine at Canada ($10.99 to $12.49), Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich at France (about $9)
  • Hollywood Studios: Totchos at Woody's Lunch Box ($10.99), Box Tart ($5.29), Pink Milk at Galaxy's Edge (about $9.79)
  • Animal Kingdom: Grilled Corn on the Cob (about $5.29), Cheeseburger Steamed Pods at Satu'li Canteen ($13.99 adult, $8.99 kids)

Is the Disney Dining Plan worth it?

It's offered at Walt Disney World in 2026. DisneyBlog lists it at about $60 per adult per day for Quick Service, $99 for Standard and $120 for Deluxe, though its own figures aren't consistent, so check with Disney before booking. It estimates that most visitors eating normally would save 10% to 15%, and that it mainly pays off if you eat at signature restaurants. If you prefer counter service and snacks, paying as you go is usually cheaper.

How to spend less

Both resorts allow outside food and non-alcoholic drinks for your own consumption.

  • Food rules: not in glass (except small baby-food jars), nothing that needs heating or refrigeration, and nothing with a strong smell
  • Coolers: at Walt Disney World, up to 24 x 15 x 18 inches, with reusable ice packs only. At Disneyland, about six-pack size
  • Water: bring a refillable bottle. Disneyland has free filtered water stations in both parks
  • Alcohol: not allowed in from outside

Check Disney's own guidelines before you go, as rules can change.

Tickets and planning

You'll want tickets sorted before you sort lunch. You can see Walt Disney World tickets on Viator and Disneyland Resort tickets on Viator. Some Disneyland tickets are sold for US residents only, so check which ticket you're eligible for before you pay. Our guides to when to go to the Florida theme parks and California cover timing and costs. US healthcare is expensive, so see our note on travel insurance too.
